Ebony/Negresco, also known as Nero Orion, is a striking black granite quarried in Brazil. This natural stone is distinguished by its deep, midnight-black background adorned with subtle smoky white or light gray veining, giving it a sophisticated, suede-like appearance. Highly prized for its density and durability, it is an excellent choice for high-traffic areas such as kitchen countertops, waterfall islands, and outdoor spaces, as it resists heat and scratches remarkably well. Interestingly, due to its soft texture and matte look when honed, Negresco is frequently mistaken for soapstone, though it offers the superior strength and lower maintenance typical of granite.
