Marble
Norwegian Rose
Norwegian Rose, also known as Rosa Norvegia, is a distinctive marble primarily quarried in the Fauske region of Norway. This natural treasure is celebrated for its romantic palette, featuring a soft pink to deep rose-red background interlaced with white and translucent grey veining. Some variations even display subtle olive green or burgundy undertones. Its unique crystalline structure, occasionally containing elements of dolomite, allows the stone to shimmer beautifully under light. While it has graced public landmarks like the Oslo City Hall for decades, it remains a rare and sophisticated choice for luxury residential interiors, offering a warmth and personality that standard white marbles cannot replicate. Interestingly, the quarries in Fauske have been operational since the late 19th century, making it one of Norway's most historically significant geological exports.
