New arrival. Calacatta Namibia just came into our Los Angeles yard.
Calacatta Namibia is a 2 cm white marble from Italy, offered in a honed finish. Lot 1575 runs from 121″ × 79″ to 121″ × 81″, with 25 slabs available and 2 on hold at our Los Angeles yard.
This slab
The recorded size of a slab in this lot is 121″ × 81″, about 68 square feet. Sizes across the lot run from 121″ × 79″ to 121″ × 81″. Thickness is 2 cm. The color on record is white. Natural stone still varies inside that description, so the slab itself is the reference for movement and shade. This material is recorded as quarried in Italy.
The honed finish is smooth and matte, without a high gloss. Two centimeters is a standard slab thickness for counters, vanities, and wall cladding.
In the yard
Lot 1575 at our Los Angeles yard shows 27 slabs in stock, 2 slabs on hold, and 25 slabs available. Available means in stock minus slabs on hold.
The slabs can be compared in daylight at our Los Angeles yard before anything is cut.
Where it works
For this kind of stone, the usual applications are bathrooms, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. The right use still depends on the finish, the thickness, and how the slab will be cared for after it is installed.
The material
Marble is a metamorphic stone, recrystallized from limestone, and it is valued for veining and a luminous surface. It is softer and more sensitive to acids than granite or quartzite, so wine, citrus, and strong cleaners can etch a polish. That is why it is a classic for bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and walls, and for kitchens when the owner wants the look and will live with a natural patina. A honed face shows etching less than a high polish. Vein direction should be planned on the actual slabs before fabrication.
About Calacatta Namibia
Calacatta Namibia is a prestigious marble that offers a sophisticated alternative to traditional white varieties. Sourced from the ancient, mineral-rich landscapes of Namibia and often processed in Italy, this stone is defined by its luminous white to ivory background. It is artistically detailed with a delicate network of soft grey and pale gold veining that creates a sense of "breezy elegance." Its crystalline structure provides a subtle translucency, allowing it to glow beautifully in well-lit spaces. Interestingly, while it shares the name of its famous Italian counterparts, its unique geological origin in the world's oldest desert gives it a distinctively warm, sandy-toned character.
