Calacatta Picasso is an extraordinary Italian marble sourced from the Garfagnana region in Tuscany. It is characterized by a fascinatingly varied palette, featuring a creamy white background interlaced with bold, sweeping veins of charcoal, silver-grey, and warm pecan. This stone is a brecciated marble, meaning it is composed of broken fragments of minerals or rock cemented together by a fine-grained matrix, which creates its signature "Picasso-esque" abstract aesthetic. Because of its intense visual energy and high level of variation, each slab is a unique piece of natural art, making it a premier choice for high-end statement walls and luxury countertops.
Calacatta Picasso is a new arrival, now on hand at our Los Angeles yard.
Slabs of Calacatta Picasso in lot 4800 run from 116″ × 78″ to 117″ × 78″. This is 2 cm white, black, grey, and gold marble quarried in Italy with a honed finish, and 25 slabs are available at our Los Angeles yard.
This slab
The recorded size of a slab in this lot is 117″ × 78″, about 63 square feet. Sizes across the lot run from 116″ × 78″ to 117″ × 78″. Thickness is 2 cm. The color on record is white, black, grey, and gold. Natural stone still varies inside that description, so the slab itself is the reference for movement and shade. This material is recorded as quarried in Italy.
The honed finish is smooth and matte, without a high gloss. Two centimeters is a standard slab thickness for counters, vanities, and wall cladding.

Where it works
For this kind of stone, the usual applications are bathrooms, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. The right use still depends on the finish, the thickness, and how the slab will be cared for after it is installed. Inspiration photos show this stone in a TV Wall.
The material
Marble is a metamorphic stone, recrystallized from limestone, and it is valued for veining and a luminous surface. It is softer and more sensitive to acids than granite or quartzite, so wine, citrus, and strong cleaners can etch a polish. That is why it is a classic for bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and walls, and for kitchens when the owner wants the look and will live with a natural patina. A honed face shows etching less than a high polish. Vein direction should be planned on the actual slabs before fabrication.
