Granite
Sodalite Blue
Sodalite Blue is a rare and prestigious natural stone primarily quarried in the high-altitude Andean Plateau of Bolivia and the mineral-rich regions of Brazil and Namibia. Although commercially classified as a granite due to its exceptional hardness and density, it is geologically a feldspathoid. This exotic stone features an intense cobalt to royal blue background, dramatically interlaced with icy white calcite veins and occasional black intrusions. Valued as a "gem among stones," its limited production and striking "sky-like" patterns make it a premier choice for luxury interiors, including book-matched feature walls and high-end countertops. Interestingly, while it resembles lapis lazuli, Sodalite Blue is distinguished by its white streak and the absence of pyrite. Under ultraviolet light, certain specimens reveal a hidden characteristic, fluorescing a vibrant orange.
