Thassos White is a premier dolomite marble quarried from the Greek island of Thassos in the Aegean Sea. Renowned as the whitest marble in the world, it features a luminous, crystalline structure that provides a brilliant, snowy appearance. This historic stone has been prized since antiquity, notably used in the construction of ancient temples and sculptures. Beyond its aesthetic purity, Thassos White is remarkably dense and possesses the lowest heat absorbance of any natural stone, allowing it to remain cool even in direct sunlight. Its uniform, diamond-like sparkle makes it a pinnacle of luxury for high-end interiors and water areas.
New arrival. Thassos White just came into our Los Angeles yard.
Thassos White is a 2 cm white with semi-white marble from Greece, offered in a honed finish. Lot 25132 runs from 120″ × 75″ to 122″ × 76″, with 11 slabs available and 2 on hold at our Los Angeles yard.
This slab
The recorded size of a slab in this lot is 121″ × 75″, about 63 square feet. Sizes across the lot run from 120″ × 75″ to 122″ × 76″. Thickness is 2 cm. The color on record is white with semi-white. Natural stone still varies inside that description, so the slab itself is the reference for movement and shade. This material is recorded as quarried in Greece.
The honed finish is smooth and matte, without a high gloss. Two centimeters is a standard slab thickness for counters, vanities, and wall cladding.

Where it works
For this kind of stone, the usual applications are bathrooms, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. The right use still depends on the finish, the thickness, and how the slab will be cared for after it is installed. Inspiration photos show this stone in a Kitchen and a Bathroom.
The material
Marble is a metamorphic stone, recrystallized from limestone, and it is valued for veining and a luminous surface. It is softer and more sensitive to acids than granite or quartzite, so wine, citrus, and strong cleaners can etch a polish. That is why it is a classic for bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and walls, and for kitchens when the owner wants the look and will live with a natural patina. A honed face shows etching less than a high polish. Vein direction should be planned on the actual slabs before fabrication.
