Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm (OC05) takes the image of a storm-filled sky and renders it as onyx. Electric blue veins and pale, cloud-like areas cut through darker zones of gray and rusty brown, creating sharp shifts between light and shadow across the slab. Because the pattern is so active, it works best on surfaces that can stand alone, such as a single wall, an island or a vanity, rather than on every plane in a room.

Specifications: 12 mm thickness, Polished or Matte finish, 162 x 324 cm (63¾ x 127½ in) format and non-rectified edges. Spills stay on the surface thanks to very low water absorption, and Infinity rates the material for resistance to scratches, heat, impact and chemicals; a mild detergent handles everyday cleaning. Seeing the full slab helps when planning where the strongest veining should fall.
