This policy supplements our website privacy notice and applies specifically to the App. If there is a conflict between this policy and the website privacy notice, this policy controls for the App.

Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and sign-in information. When you sign in through our Portal, we receive the account information necessary to identify and authorize you, such as your name, email address, account identifier, roles, and authentication/session information.
- Collections and saved materials. We collect the names, notes, quantities, saved stone and product selections, and other information you add to your collections.
- Files, photos, and links you choose to add. If you add a custom item or external link to a collection, we collect the file, image, title, URL, and related information you provide. Files may include images, PDFs, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, or Word documents. Do not upload information you do not have permission to share.
- Barcode information. When you use the optional slab barcode scanner, the App reads the barcode from your camera preview and sends the barcode value to our service to look up the relevant inventory item. We do not record or retain camera video footage through this feature.
- Inquiry information. If you submit an inquiry through the App, we collect the information you include in the inquiry, such as your contact details and message.
- Usage and technical information. We may collect information about how the App is used, including pages viewed, interactions, approximate device/browser information, IP address, and diagnostic information. The App uses Google Analytics to measure use of the App and improve it.
- Local device data. The App stores an authentication token, account display information, a temporary guest-session identifier, and app preferences locally on your device or browser. This allows the App to keep you signed in and preserve your experience. You may remove this local data by signing out, clearing the App’s storage, or uninstalling the App.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, secure, maintain, and improve the App and Portal;
- authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access;
- display inventory and process searches, barcode lookups, collections, saved items, exports, sharing, and inquiries;
- provide customer support and respond to requests;
- understand App performance and usage, diagnose problems, and improve our products and services;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights, users, staff, and property.
Where required by applicable law, we process personal information to perform a contract or take steps at your request, to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, or with your consent.
Camera permission
The App requests camera access only when you choose to scan a slab barcode. Camera access is used to display a live preview and read the barcode. You can decline permission and enter a barcode manually instead. The App does not use the camera for advertising, background monitoring, or recording video footage.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information to:
- Service providers that operate the Portal, host data, store uploaded content, deliver infrastructure, provide security, or provide analytics on our behalf;
- Google Analytics, which helps us understand App traffic and usage, subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices;
- authorized users when you choose to share a collection or its contents through the App;
- professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, prevent fraud, or address a legal claim; and
- a successor organization in connection with a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, or acquisition of all or part of our business.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information collected through the App for targeted advertising.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App and Portal, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. In general, account information and collection content are retained while your account remains active. We then delete or de-identify the information when it is no longer needed, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Your choices and rights
You may review or update certain account and collection information through the App or Portal. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a request, contact us at info@modulmarble.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right available under applicable law.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your Portal account and associated App data by emailing info@modulmarble.com with the subject line “Delete my Modul Marble account.” We will verify the request and explain any information we must retain, for example where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
This section is the external account-deletion resource for the Google Play store listing. The Account screen in Live Gallery also links to this policy and the same request method.
California privacy notice
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”), including the right to know, correct, and delete certain personal information, subject to legal exceptions. You may exercise these rights using the contact method above. Authorized agents may submit requests on behalf of California residents, subject to verification of the agent’s authority and the consumer’s identity.
For more information, see our California Consumer Privacy Act notice.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. Information is transmitted using encryption in transit where supported, including HTTPS for the App’s services. No system is completely secure, and you should use care when choosing what to upload or share.
Children
The App is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
Third-party services and links
The App may link to third-party websites, Portal sign-in providers, or content you choose to add to a collection. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and practices. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
