Aurora Blue is an enchanting Italian marble primarily quarried in the Brescian Pre-Alps of Northern Italy. Distinguished by its warm, enveloping beige background, this variety is celebrated for its lively and heterogeneous appearance, featuring intense veining that ranges from grey and brown to hints of red and orange. A rare and highly sought-after selection from these quarries features subtle bluish intrusions, earning it the specific trade name Blue Marina. Due to its brecciated structure, it is often installed using book-matching techniques to create striking, symmetrical patterns. This stone is a sophisticated choice for elegant interior applications, including flooring, wall coverings, and bespoke architectural elements. Interestingly, it is frequently paired with the nearby Botticino marble to create a classic Mediterranean aesthetic.
On hand at our Los Angeles yard: 18 available slabs of Aurora Blue, a 2 cm blue marble from Italy in a honed finish. Lot 14145 measures about 105″ × 79″, with 2 slabs on hold.
This slab
The recorded size of a slab in this lot is 105″ × 79″, about 58 square feet. Thickness is 2 cm. The color on record is blue. Natural stone still varies inside that description, so the slab itself is the reference for movement and shade. This material is recorded as quarried in Italy.
The honed finish is smooth and matte, without a high gloss. Two centimeters is a standard slab thickness for counters, vanities, and wall cladding.

Where it works
For this kind of stone, the usual applications are bathrooms, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. The right use still depends on the finish, the thickness, and how the slab will be cared for after it is installed. Inspiration photos show this stone in a Kitchen and a Wet Bar.
The material
Marble is a metamorphic stone, recrystallized from limestone, and it is valued for veining and a luminous surface. It is softer and more sensitive to acids than granite or quartzite, so wine, citrus, and strong cleaners can etch a polish. That is why it is a classic for bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and walls, and for kitchens when the owner wants the look and will live with a natural patina. A honed face shows etching less than a high polish. Vein direction should be planned on the actual slabs before fabrication.
