Agate Black Diamond

Dark agate, a translucent and finely crystalline variety of quartz, supplies every piece in Agate Black Diamond, and each slab is fitted together by hand. The slices are irregular and rounded, ranging mostly from espresso to jet, with subtle tide-line banding visible up close. There is one version, With Gold, in which the metallic inlay traces every joint and draws a dense network of gold lines across a black ground.

The contrast between lit and unlit states is its defining feature: a backlit panel shifts from near-black to a patchwork of orange and amber. Standard thickness is 2 cm, and 0.6 to 4 cm pieces are also available, cut to the dimensions of a project. Hospitality bars, reception desks, powder rooms and accent walls are natural settings for it. Clean with a mild, non-abrasive product and keep acidic or harsh chemicals away from the surface.
