This slab

The recorded size of a slab in this lot is 124″ × 69″, about 59 square feet. Sizes across the lot run from 112″ × 66″ to 125″ × 69″. Thickness is 2 cm. The color on record is cream with beige and grey. Natural stone still varies inside that description, so the slab itself is the reference for movement and shade. Breccia Sarda/Daino Reale is also known as Daino Reale / Diana Royal. Searching either name should lead to this same material. This material is recorded as quarried in Italy.

The honed finish is smooth and matte, without a high gloss. Two centimeters is a standard slab thickness for counters, vanities, and wall cladding.

Where it works

For this kind of stone, the usual applications are bathrooms, vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. The right use still depends on the finish, the thickness, and how the slab will be cared for after it is installed. Inspiration photos show this stone in a Breccia Sarda.

The material

Marble is a metamorphic stone, recrystallized from limestone, and it is valued for veining and a luminous surface. It is softer and more sensitive to acids than granite or quartzite, so wine, citrus, and strong cleaners can etch a polish. That is why it is a classic for bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and walls, and for kitchens when the owner wants the look and will live with a natural patina. A honed face shows etching less than a high polish. Vein direction should be planned on the actual slabs before fabrication.

About Breccia Sarda/Daino Reale

Breccia Sarda, also known as Daino Reale or Diana Royal, is a prestigious Italian marble exclusively quarried from the Orosei region in Sardinia. This sedimentary stone is celebrated for its warm, creamy beige background and dramatic, river-like veining that ranges from soft tan to deep chocolate. Geologically classified as a biopelsparite, its surface is a spectacular mosaic of crystallized fossils, shells, and mineral encrustations formed during the Jurassic period. Its robust nature makes it a versatile choice for luxury flooring, countertops, and book-matched feature walls. Interestingly, its unique patterns are so organic that they are often compared to the natural grain of wood or even the texture of deer antlers.
