The material

Engineered quartz is a manufactured surface, mostly ground quartz bound with resin. It is non-porous, consistent from piece to piece, and used for kitchen counters and vanities. It should be protected from extreme direct heat, unlike most granite. The pattern is designed, so slabs in a lot are made to coordinate.
