Pierre Noire is a sophisticated dark limestone primarily quarried in China, valued for its deep charcoal to midnight black tonality. This natural stone is characterized by its dense structure and limited color variation, offering a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that transitions beautifully from a matte dark gray when dry to a rich, glossy black when wet. Its versatile nature makes it an ideal choice for high-traffic residential and commercial flooring, wall cladding, and pool surrounds. Interestingly, dense black limestones like this are so compact they are often commercially referred to as marble, similar to the famous Italian Portoro.
