Tornado, a semi-precious special composition, draws agate slices in deep cobalt, royal blue and pale ice into a spiral around a dark center. Color lightens toward the edges, where white and sky-blue pieces take over, so the slab carries a strong sense of depth and rotation even when viewed from across a room.

About Tornado

The design is built from blue agate, a banded chalcedony whose color is produced in a laboratory rather than occurring naturally. Every slice keeps its natural growth bands, some with crystal-lined centers, and the pieces are graded by tone and placed by hand so the darkest blues gather at the core of the swirl.

The blue agate can be backlit as well as front-lit, which opens up illuminated walls, bar fronts and reception backdrops as options; the composition also works as a dining or conference table top. For thickness, 2 cm is the norm and 0.6 to 4 cm is possible; for size, the vortex can be produced on a panel as large as 320 x 190 cm. A pH-neutral cleaner suits routine maintenance.
