AGATE

Agate Natural brings together small, cross-cut agate slices in a cool, mixed palette of pale gray, slate blue and cream, with touches of rust and the occasional near-black piece. Every slice shows its own concentric rings, and in the With Gold version a thin gold line traces each one. A backlit installation shifts the mosaic to amber, caramel and ivory.

About Agate Natural

Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, and this slab puts that structure on full display. The nodules are sliced across their growth layers, so most pieces show rings around a crystalline or hollow center, and the slices are set by hand into a dense, small-scale composition. It is produced as Agate Natural With Gold, the joints filled with gold inlay in imitation or real gold.

Front-lit, the slab reads as a cool, pebbled field. Backlit, most pieces turn orange, honey and cream while a few stay chocolate brown, an effect well suited to an illuminated bathroom wall. A backlit wall like that is drawn to size: each panel is produced for the opening it fills, up to 320 x 190 cm, normally 2 cm thick but available anywhere from 0.6 to 4 cm. Dust and fingerprints lift off with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
