About Agate Umbra
Umbra draws on the deepest-toned agate, where the chalcedony looks almost black under ordinary light. The hand-assembled slab mixes black and blue-black slices with a smaller number of pieces showing pale bands or white crystal, enough to keep the surface from going flat. Four versions are available: the standard Umbra; Umbra With Gold; Umbra Giant, with larger slices and more visible crystal cores; and Umbra With Gold Small, whose tiny pieces form a fine, speckled field with a bluer cast.
Umbra works in a wide range of settings: on a kitchen island, beside a pool, on bathroom walls and a vanity, on a coffee table, and as a backlit wall framing a linear fireplace. Dark surfaces tend to show water spots and dust, so a microfiber cloth and pH-neutral cleaner belong in the routine, and hot pans should go on trivets. Whatever the setting, the slab is cut to the project rather than to a stock format, up to 320 x 190 cm, and its 2 cm depth can move anywhere from 0.6 to 4 cm.
